The Good Stuff: What I Liked
Price, price, and price: As the name suggests, Namecheap is cheap. Their shared plans are incredibly inexpensive, especially in the first year. For novices and budget websites, it is a bargain.
Freebies galore: A free domain name (awesome!), free website migration (phew!), and lots of other stuff thrown in.
Stellar (Plus) uptime: Though unrealistic, Namecheap pledges 100% uptime. Nevertheless, real-world customers of Stellar and Stellar Plus plans confirm this reliability beyond any doubt.
Customer service: Forget about those bots and endless ticket queues. Namecheap’s support actually responds, helps out and… well, human!
The Bad Stuff: What I Disliked
Not the fastest kid on the block: Speed demons won’t fall for Namecheap’s shared plans. If your site must load up in a flash you may need to go for a faster (read more expensive) alternative.
Security: Security is not as good as it should be. You have to take care of security on your own.
Renewal prices bite: Many hosts have low first-year pricing but high renewals. That said it’s still competitive when you consider all this.

Hosts like Hostinger or Milesweb fall into the same price range or less as Namecheap with their low costs. Nevertheless, for beginners, Milesweb’s support and ease of setup give it an edge over other similar services. However, if you want lightning-fast speed at any cost then SiteGround or A2 Hosting could be better (although more expensive) options. and If you want secured web hosting then Interserver is my number 1 choice for the medium price range.
The Bottom Line
Namecheap is one of those affordable solutions that can be recommended to all beginners in web hosting. It’s not ideal but considering what you get for the price it’s absolutely worth giving it a try especially with their money back policy. If it doesn’t work out as expected once your business develops further, you can always change!
